AbstractTemperature and Heat Stress in a concrete column at early agesPeg-Foo Siewpfsiew@maths.curtin.edu.au Curtin University of Technology, Department of Mathematics and Statistics, Australia
The temperature development and the stress generated in a cylindrical column of concrete is investigated. The problem is essentially two-dimensional, and is easily solvable using a finite element package. Adiabatic temperature data from three different concrete mixes are used and the influences on the temperature development due to the use of silica fumes or slag in the mixes are discussed. The use of different empirical formulae to investigate the probability of cracks developing in the concrete is also discussed. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
